Kuma Reality Games Releases First 'Kuma News Minute'

New York, NY (January 20, 2004) - Kuma Reality Games, the pioneer of 'Reality Gaming' and a leading broadband game company, today released a video re-enactment of Operation Red Dawn, the capture of Saddam Hussein, created with its soon-to-launch Kuma War game service. This video, the first of the company's monthly Kuma Minutes, combines real-world intel - including satellite imagery, Department of Defense reports, expert analysis and personal accounts of soldiers on the ground - with cutting-edge game tools to create an accurate and stunningly realistic portrayal of this historic event.

"Kuma War uses real-world events as the basis for our missions," said Dante Anderson, Kuma’s head of development. "You can be the 4th Infantry Division, capturing Saddam, or the 10th Mountain Division chasing al Qaeda through Afghanistan. Our job is to give a 'boots on the ground' experience of actual events in the global war on terror."

At the launch of Kuma War in February, gamers will be able to experience Operation: Red Dawn and a number of other playable missions including some of the toughest fighting in the war, Operation: Anaconda in Afghanistan and the deadly battle to capture Uday and Qusay Hussein.

The development team researches and builds missions with amazing speed. "Our missions are pushed out over the web as fast as possible, they are playable games but also a kind of real-world news. They need to reflect current headlines that people care about today, not two years from now," added Anderson. Leveraging the Kuma War engine, the company was able to react quickly to develop the Kuma Minute. "Most of our missions will have more opposition and more intense fire fights, but this one gave us a chance to focus on the realism of this historic event."

Kuma Reality Games builds re-creations of real-world events using advanced gaming tools. Kuma War, the first ‘Reality Game,’ will be available online in February. Each month, Kuma subscribers will receive playable missions, video news shows, extensive intelligence gathered from news sources around the world, and insight from a decorated team of military veterans. Kuma War is a first and third-person tactical squad-based game that provides multiple updates monthly to the consumer's computer to reflect unfolding events in the real world. Kuma Reality Games, headquartered in New York, New York is a privately held company.
