Animal Crossing New Leaf Question

I've tried to search this up and I'm struggling to find a clear answer...

When I first started my game (years ago), I gave away my perfect apple to my favourite townie and since then, I've been harvesting apples irregularly. The townies have recently been telling me, after some long break where they didn't mention them, about perfect fruit. I am attached to this particular town and don't want to restart (I've only got 9 fish and bugs to go to complete my encyclopedia)... does anyone know if I will have a random perfect fruit appear (again) after all this time? Or do I need to travel to someone else's town for an apple?

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to have them spawn. It's pretty rare but I don't remember it being one per town or anything like that.

Oh wow, that'd be great... so maybe all I have to do is harvest the fruit every day? And keep watching auroras????

Yeah, Kat is right, there’s no limit. You’ll get another perfecto eventually. Or you can expedite the process by going out to a friend’s town, like you said.
