I didn't expect Saria as soon as we found out Lana is essentially using a Deku Stick. This just makes it more blatant.

Also, Ganondorf and Sheik playable in a Zelda game. Awesome. Impa too, but yeah. It's nice to add to the roster, beyond Midna, Medli, Makar, Link, Zelda, and Phantom Zelda, anyway. Well, and statues in TP, I guess. :P

^ Yeah, that's what I really meant.

Well it's certainly interesting. With the playable roster past E3's 9 now, anything is possible. However, it's clear that they're taking influence from only a select few games: OoT, MM, SS, and WW. Anything outside those boundaries are probably not happening. :/

The direct mentioned that Adventure mode (19:08 ) unlocks some characters. Those could be characters we've already seen (which would be weird, because I think they're in the main story) or new characters. King Zora still has a shot.

Did you mean TP instead of WW? And yeah, MM is getting referenced quite a bit. Might be to help promote a potential MM remake?

That said, I really do want Tingle playable. Since he had a cameo in SS, I think he has a ghost of a chance. Or a cameo in the game via a statue or something. Like Young Link does.(also note that people only call him Young Link due to SSB coining that name. XD)

More sceenshots here. There's some cool stuff in there. Some sort of villain campaign where you beat up Hylian soldiers might be confirmed.

Hyrule Warriors guidebook Shows Unused Character Designs For Female Link

We could have had… Linkle.

Yup, that’s the name of the female version of Link that was apparently proposed by the design team, according to newly released photos from the Japanese Hyrule Warriors artbook: “Rinkuru,” which roughly translates in English to “Linkle.” LINKLE! Be still my heart containers.

The character was designed to be a “girl version of hero Link” (勇者のリンクの女の子版) who is “little sister-like” (妹的) but is not related to Link in any way. Here, have a close-up:

Honestly? I'm okay with that.

Though Linkle is a freaking terrible name.

Going from "Rinkuru" to "Linkle" doesn't seem right. Maybe "Linkelle," which is still stupid, but better.
