^Come now. It isn't proper trolling if it's that blatant.

Make Link just slightly whiney and slightly ineffectual and slightly doofusy. Give him a little bit of a lisp, maybe, or have him say 'uhhhh' and 'ummmm' a lot. You know, make him a normal, relatable guy. So fanboys can go apesh*t over the fact that he isn't perfect self-insert awesomeness personified. Oh, man, it's brilliant.

Just base the entire plot off of Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland and call it Legend of Zelda.

Make sure to hire people who don't know the source of the game so they winding up naming everything Zelda.

What if Link just screamed nonsense the whole time and everyone around him would just understand.

I'm great. Tazy and RU are trying, at least.

Subtle troll is best troll. You have to draw it out. Make them wonder whether it's intentional.

Trolling is kind of like being God-------when you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

It wasn't a troll. I want Link to scream like a brutish barbarian at all times. And I want everyone but the audience to understand what he is saying.

I've got it. Link is this weak boy that everyone bullies and makes fun of, but then he draws a sword and he's all "I am in possession of the strength" and he becomes this muscly guy called Zelda. But it's a secret, no one knows he is Zelda. Then he foils Ganon's evil cunning plans every week, and Ganon is all "I'll get you next time Zelda!"

bombs are now fireballs (that act more like snappers)
bow fires only magic arrows of force/light
hookshot is a talking spider that latches to walls
ganon is the teacher
even though this "more family friendly Game of Thrones" blurb is distressing it's probably just a hype machine.
It's almost certainly that, really. It's the elevator pitch used to explain it to high-level executives so they can rationalise it in their heads and also come up with quick demographic information and potential profits. It's not really meant to be the full accurate synopsis of the show.

^Yup. If there's anyone who I think of when I think 'slightly whiney, slightly ineffectual, slightly doofusy, and relatable', it's Mr. Everyman right there. Like who doesn't love that stupid assh*le and want to see him succeed against the other stupid assh*le.

This could be either really awesome or crap, although to Netflix's credit, so far their series have been average at worst.
