Hey all.
First, I want to apologize for my tardiness with this. Real life is a thing that happens sometimes. I have ideas but I'm not always good with the followthrough...this is something I know about myself.
That said, I did organize us into Gyms with 2 Underlings each. It splits pretty evenly that everyone is an underling in 2 gyms, except for Ian and RU who are only in one each.
I haven't heard from or seen IRHP, Dux, and Glux in a while, so as of right now I haven't included them. But it would be easy enough to fit them back in, if they want to come back.
GYMS
Marilink - Ground: March, RU
RU - Poison: Kat, March
AJ- Water: Deku, HotD
Kat - Fire : Deku, AJ
March - Bug: ML, Kat
Deku - Fighting: Ian, HotD
Ian - Flying: ML, AJ
Rules
I've been ironing out the rules. There are a lot of rules, and we're pretty much all falling into each category, so please use this as a
reference sheet while organizing and team building. This is what I've come up with:
EVERYONE
You can pick whatever Pokemon you want, EXCEPT LEGENDARIES AND OTHER POKEMON BANNED IN SMOGON'S OU TIER. Even if a Legendary is in UU or RU, let's avoid using them, for the sake of being like the game.
Build your team according to Smogon OU rules.
We are using Pokemon Showdown to do all of this. Head on over to
https://play.pokemonshowdown.com and make an account. The Teambuilder tool is on the left.
GYM LEADERS
Gym Leaders have a team of 6 Pokemon, all level 50. Each Pokemon has the "signature move" of the Gym Leader. You don't have to use it like a dumb NPC would use it, but you have to at least have it, and it would be wise to design your team around it. Oh, also, you should decide what your Badge is. You may use Held Items, but the held item clause applies (only 1 unique item per team). You may also have variants of the same Pokemon in your party (e.g. a Pikachu and a Raichu).
GYM UNDERLINGS
Gym Underlings have a team of 4 Pokemon, all level 50. They do not have to have the Gym Leader's signature move. You may NOT use held items. You will work together with your Gym Leader to decide what your party should have. Don't be afraid to be thematic. Pretend you're in the game.
CHALLENGERS
Challengers can assemble ONE party to defeat all the gyms. 6 Pokemon, all level 50. Yes, we're going to stick with one party per challenger. If you want to change your party, you "lose" your badges and have to restart the gym challenge. You may use held items, but the held item clause applies. You have to make your party known before attempting the challenge, so that we know you're carrying the same party through the whole challenge. Give yourself and your party a name, and whenever you defeat a Gym, update in this thread using this format:
[TrainerName] and [TrainerNameParty] has earned the [GymBadge] from [GymLeader]!
OK, Now what?
Gym leaders, your action items are to...
- Plan a team.
- Contact your underlings and make a plan for their teams.
- Name your badge (and, heck, you can name your whole "town" while you're at it).
- When you're ready (Be ready by June 10!), Post in this thread what your Gym badge is and who your underlings are. I will try to be the first one done so I can model what this looks like.
Everyone else...
- Write down your gym and what gym you are underling...ing.
- Start planning your Challenger team. Remember that the Gym types are Ground, Poison, Water, Fire, Bug, Fighting, and Flying.
CHALLENGES BEGIN ON SUNDAY, JUNE 10
Any questions? Is there still enough interest to do this?
