Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
Guys. I have a problem. I’ve played for 37 hours already and I beat all the gyms. I have like 15-20 Pokémon over level 50, and most evolved naturally. I’ve gotten 300 candies through raids with friends. I can’t stop. Send help.
Side note: my top-played Pokémon are probably Lizard Finger Guns, Sharp Knight Bird, Pile of Trash, and Big Leek Duck. Honorable mentions: Green Ballerina, Haunted Tea Cup, Gene Simmons Badger, Barnacle Boy, Flat Fish, and Tall Sparky Lizard.

Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
I don't think I'll give this any game of the years personally. I mean, if it's top 10 for me? Probably pretty low. It's not nearly as bad as everyone is leading it out to be.... it's actually pretty good in some ways.
...That said it is kind of obvious that TPC wanted this to be released by November because of all the merchandise they're releasing. :/

TPC rushes GameFreak to finish the game, and that’s apparent. However, GameFreak still made a fantastic in the timeframe they were given. I just played for 2 hours or so last night and all I did was explore the Wild Area and have a great time. Fully evolved my starter and I’m very happy. This is the most fun I’ve had with Pokémon since Y.

Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
Just finished the Fairy gym and made it to the next town. My party as of the gym Cinderace, Whimsicott, Piloswine, Corviknight, Runerigus, and Drednaw. But then I caught a Falinks on route 8 and it’s the best thing ever so it replaced Drednaw

Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
I just got a Cramorant last night, and it's the greatest thing ever, so it immediately booted Farfetch'd from my party, at least until Meowth evolves in a few levels and I can dump it instead.
Still haven't gone to the 4th gym and probably won't for a while. Gonna catch up on the wild area and see if anything else cool is hiding in there.

Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
if only there were some way to prove some kind of superiority with Pokémon, like some kind of one-on-one competition for supremacy. But in the absence of such a thing I suppose we will have to just agree to disagree

Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
I beat the game today. Overall satisfied, but I can feel my interest in the post-game just being suctioned out of me. Might take a whack at it in a few days so it feels fresh.
So that Alcremie can look the way she does.

...Avoiding Palette-swaps. I am aware there are some (Shellos&Gastrodon, Basculin, Shinies), they either behave somewhat differently or are really rare. ie, sure, Alolan Sandshrew is a palette swap, but it's not just "White Sandshrew", it's "Ice Sandshrew".

^ Regional variants are probably the best additions to the franchise since D/P/P's physical/special split, it's a good middle ground for people who tend not to like the new Pokemon designs much.

Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
I'm also quite surprised that Zigzagoon was the only non-Kantonian regional variant they marketed. The way they hyped up the older Pokémon, I thought Zigzagoon was going to be the only one.
When I saw Galarian Stunfisk I double-took because "Wait. That's unova!" AND it turns out that there are several other Galarian variants.
P.S. Y u no put in a Red Card item?

Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
regional variants are an excellent concept but as ive bitched about before i really don't love a lot of them execution wise. that said i'm really glad they've started implementing it, it's really cool and a step in the right direction.
also alolan vulpix is valid and can stay.

Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
Idk, I like all of them to a certain extent, from gen 1 & 2 anyway. Even bad ones like Alolan Persian. It's like seeing your son get caught in a blazing fire, surviving, and looking different, sure, but you still love him.

Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
regional variants have given us the blessing that is Mr. Rime so the entire concept is clearly blessed

Re: Pokemon Sword/Shield
I think it's interesting how Meowth has Alolan & Galarian forms. It was something I was wondering about, if they'd give one Pokemon multiple regional variants, so I'm glad to see they are. Revisiting Pikachu & Raichu would be good. I really want to see variants of the starters, Gengar, Dragonite, Snorlax, and Eevee lines the most though. The idea of a super complicated Eevee line is great.
