I know "end of an era" is a bit of a cliche, but I feel it fits in this case.

The phrase is overused, but I think it makes sense for something that's been going on for nearly 70 years.

However, the article specifies that they will continue to write a new annual issue at the end of each year, just not monthlies anymore past this year's issue #10.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I saw the headline earlier and was surprised that they still release issues.

Mad stopped bein good when I was in high school. DC 'revamped' it. Guess they thought readers were tired of humour, and instead wanted the Fundalini Pages (aka boring 'Higlights'-style entertainment for babies) and about thirty full-page ads for DC properties per issue.

I guess I'm sad Sergio Aragones and Al Jaffee will have to find other work, but otherwise I could give a damn.

(EDIT:...hmmm. Jack Davis and Don Martin are dead. I mean, I'm not surprised-------I just kind of hoped they were still around.)
boo----------he's a hurry-cane in all kinds of weather

I never read Mad. For some reason when I was a kid Alfred E. Neuman made me feel very uncomfortable.

Never was much of a magazine reader. With the exception of GameInformer

Nintendo Power was where it was at. I still have my last issue in its plastic sleeve.
