Ape Escape is the only good one there, and people are fairly vocal about it.

They've dialed it back a bit in recent years, but it was mostly being really snarky to their competition and (literally) capitalizing on memes. It's mostly the fact that everyone was really into it and developed this weird parasocial relationship with their Twitter account, where everyone was desperately trying to get the attention of the cool kid who was secretly a burger peddler the whole time.
There was also a trend going around of depicting the mascot as an anime girl. That's all I'm gonna say about that.

I think there's less clamor for Sony's old franchises because they've been more successful about making new ones that people like more, and also because most of the ones they killed off were some combination of over-saturated and not that big to begin with.
