Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
The CGI somehow didn't unnerve me nearly as much as Pokémon did.
Then again, it might be because we were desensitized thanks to those eldritch abominations in Alita: Battle Angel, Detective Pikachu, and the Aladdin remake.

Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
What about that anime based live-action movie where the girl had huge eyes? Anime proportions and design are not meant to portray accuracy, it's abstract art. Wtf were they thinking.

^Alita: Battle Angel. I saw the full trailer, & she is the only character with the enlarged eyes, 'cause she's a cyborg. Still super unsettling, though.

Looks like an elderly Star Fox got cancer and tried to end it by fire but it didn't quite work and is currently having PTSD flashbacks.

Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
there's a massive stand-up version of the one poster that's just sonic's legs on a bridge at my local movie theater. it is just as disconcerting as you'd imagine.

Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
the movie looks fun but Sonic looks gross. Like, why? We have a perfectly workable 3D conception of Sonic already, why the nightmare version?? It's not like he's more realistic or anything

Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
I cannot stress this question enough:
WHY IS SONIC THE FLASH!?
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
basically this. sonic looks so awful and i'm not sure why they would have ever decided to design him like they did.

Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
...ugh.
Why is this set in the real world? Is there a single good reason?
Set it in 'Sonic the Hedgehog' World. Sonic is best in his own context. Surround him with all his stupid friends, have them running around and sh*t. Then, by all means, Jim Carrey as Kintobor. Like why not. But do it in Sonic's world. Planet Freedom, right? Have him rescue Princess Sara.
I don't want to imagine the after-credits sequence. Presumably it'll feature Tails and Knuckles all real world-ified. Maybe...maybe Sally Acorn, too. (*looks perplexed*) (*looks horrified*) (*a beat*) (*black screen*) (*the sounds of a person screaming/barfing himself to death*) (*o fortuna*)
[EDIT: Pfft. 'Every Hero Has a Genesis'. I'll do you one better, bitch, I've got a Dreamcast. (*badass 'what now' gesture, only slightly undercut by the fact that he recently barfscreamdied*)

Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
if this movie only exists for me to text ML still images from the trailers to blow his mind that it actually exists, I'm 100% in favor of it.

Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
i hope the movie is at least entertainingly bad. my big fear is that it will be just good enough to be forgettable.
i NEED an excuse to pass this ugly-ass sonic down through the generations

Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
I probably wouldn't see it even if it didn't look dumpy. Never been into Sonic for the amazing storyline lol.

Re: The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
1. how in le hell did you miss the fact that people have been ****ting on this design since it was first revealed...?Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear... you aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be... #sonicmovie #gottafixfast
2. hey but you're listening to criticism! that's good!
3. this better not mean you're putting a ton of animators in horrible crunch conditions to completely re-vamp the movie on a deadline!!!
