I don't think Mass has officially banned gatherings yet, but they've pretty much all shut down voluntarily.
Banned today. Over 250. All the sporting and similar stuff is shutting down anyway, but I would imagine places like churches still planned to operate, though a growing number of people have been scared away from going anywhere.
Competition is a good thing. It's a chance to crush people.

Social gatherings of 250+ have been banned in my state as well. Most schools and universities have closed until the end of the month, too.

Not a lot that affects me personally, since I already spend 98% of my free time in complete personal isolation. Though I do have a flight coming up in a couple weeks...

It's utterly insane that Tampa has had coronavirus cases and theyre still planning on having WrestleMania. They're leaving it up to VINCE MCMAHON to cancel it instead of the actual city. It's VINCE MCMAHON. He doesn't believe in sickness and he loves money no matter the cost
Wait, the XFL cancelled the rest of their season; is McMahon not involved in that anymore?

^If you're using Blackboard Collaborate, be forewarned: That software hasn't been updated in over a decade. Its server connection is unstable, the program itself is unstable, the a/v is fuzzy, & there is no way to confirm a quiet students is paying even the slightest scrap of attention unless you convince their parents to force them to turn on their webcam.
If you're using Zoom: It's much more reliable, the a/v quality is much better, & there's much more student buy-in....but there's no whiteboard surface, which makes it extremely awkward for anything requiring visual work.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
Yeah, I usually use Google Classroom, so I’ll use that and Google Hangouts most likely.

He is, but I assume WrestleMania is still probably a bigger moneymaker than all of xfl combined. And people in the football industry are way more reasonable than wrestlers. And that's not to say football people are at all reasonable.

I'm not complaining, but I think these bans on social gatherings are probably in violation of freedom of assembly. Takes some mental gymnastics to reconcile the two.

Maybe but it'd be illogical not to do so.

They're not; there's an exception for public health and safety.

all schools in Arkansas are being closed as of Tuesday, and attendance tomorrow is optional. At work, we've been given a cleaning list specifically for the epidemic that i have to go through every couple hours, which isn't actually possible to do in between customers

We didn't receive our grocery load yesterday-----------it got rerouted to Chicago. There is nothing left in our store. Barely a hundred cases of stock in our warehouse. I keep getting creepy 'Fallout 3' vibes, seein so many empty shelves, all dimly lit and all (they turn the lights down at night to save money on electricity).

We were supposed to have inventory this coming week, but they postponed it indefinitely in response to all this. I kind of wish they'd put it back on. I mean, don't mistake me, taking inventory is a boring thankless job, but one assumes it's a heck of a lot easier when the store is empty. Doesn't take a lot of energy to count to zero, does it.

Our store did a million dollars in sales last week. We've never had that before.

Rerouted to Chicago on purpose because of their demand, or by mistake?

^Intentionally. Chicago is simply a bigger market----------as I understand, Kroger pulled over a hundred trucks out of Wisconsin yesterday, to resupply Chicago Metro stores. Not great for us, but hey, at least I didn't have to break my back stocking seven juice pallets. (Presumably that's what's coming tonight, unless corporate sends a thousand trucks to Outer Mongolia.)

A little late, but every school district's closed for the month after the governor temporarily waived the school length requirement. Large gatherings all banned, and visitations in retirement homes, jails, and prisons are all banned. My lovely company also let us know that if any of us even look sick our boss is supposed to send us home and we just have to accept not getting paid for it. Good to know there are kind souls in corporate.

I work at an auto parts store, and a customer asked me how often we get stock of something, when it dawned on me - with imports halted for the time being, there's no way we're going to be restocked on a lot of our items.

My former workplace moved to takeout only and entirely cashless transactions. I believe coming into work in the first place is optional, though I wonder how they'll deal with understaffed crews. That probably won't matter much. Other states and cities have closed down restaurants and Milwaukee will probably follow suit.

I'm bracing for another **** show at work this week. Last week we went from "we serve an at risk population so we want to be the last to close" to "everyone go home early and stay home tomorrow we're shutting down" to "ok everyone back in monday".

Aselia con is next weekend, they haven't announced cancellation yet because attendance is so tiny it doesn't meet the requirements to be forcefully shut down, but so many people are staying home anyway I'm pretty sure it's going to cancel at the last minute. I think I'm going to just have a nice weekend with the gf in Texas and enjoy the time off work regardless. No way in **** I'm not taking the time off because work is stressing me the hell out, and this way we can just take nice cosplay photos all weekend with just each other.

Mass has closed all restaurants except for takeout and dropped the gathering limit to 25 as of tomorrow. Those combined will pretty much shutdown everything except small retail. Groceries/pharmacies/hospitals are obviously not covered.

Now is your chance to just place a few select items like spam and coke bottles all over the store to really get the vibe going. Hot plate here or there. Then add a fake skeleton with a tape recorder in his hands and record a deadly fight over toilet paper where he received a mortal wound. Don't worry it'll all be worth it.
