Friend or Foe?
Since GR+, I've also been a part of smashboards and like two other forums but I've never noticed the "ADD FRIEND" or "ADD FOE" links on someone's profile.
What are these for? Other than adding that title?

Re: Friend or Foe?
To be honest, I’m not really sure—we just moved to this server a short time ago.
I’m guessing that it just serves as a reminder to you, personally, who you like and...I guess, who you don’t like. Which seems kind of a useless feature to me, but whatever.

Re: Friend or Foe?
The old forums had more social media-style friend lists, whereupon you could follow people, and be followed in turn. (I was often followed, but never once caught. Sly as a fox, I am.)

@Marilink So if I put you as a friend or foe, you wouldn't know? hmmmm

Re: Friend or Foe?
Foe might be analogous to the old forum's Ignore function, I think??

Re: Friend or Foe?
Just tested it out and can confirm that Foe is an ignore list. A poorly built one, at that - if you try to add a mod to your foes list, it fails silently.

Re: Friend or Foe?
Rather than being an oddly named ignore function, "Foe" could have been a quirky way to mark people you don't really get along with or particularly like but don't necessarily hate; sort of like a secondary friend list but, like, not one. Basically an IRHP & Kil'jaeden list, if you will.

Re: Friend or Foe?
Update #2: Although they didn't think to add a proper check for ignoring mods, they did add one for ignoring yourself. Busted.

Haha, that pretty much sums up the GameFAQs forum actually.

Re: Friend or Foe?
You're not supposed to ignore staff, but you can try if you want. Seems to be functioning as intended.
Competition is a good thing. It's a chance to crush people.

Re: Friend or Foe?
Yeah, but phpBB didn't include an error message for it. The confirm modal just closes without anything happening.

Not sure. I am getting an error message.

Re: Friend or Foe?
Weird. I tried with Firefox and Chrome, and although I can see the response (a 200, strangely) in the network tab, the message never displays anywhere.
Guess it's the sort of error people could probably catch on to on their own. *shrug*

I feel like things would get confusing if you blocked some user posts *shrug*

Re: Friend or Foe?
i think it shows you a small notification that says "hey this post was made by someone on your foe list. we blocked it but you can look if you want" and then a link to open the post
