Don't really know what to say... that really really sucks. Kunx was a cool guy, and he'll be missed. Just thought I'd stop by to pay my respects, I was informed by a member who is apparently still active.

I wish the best of luck to his family, though I'm not sure that they'll read this.
Video Gamerz Network boards will be back up shortly after a change of hosting. Thanks for not caring.

I just thought this poem fit.

I miss the way we talked,
far into the night
Promises we made then,
love forever bright
Trusting in each other
just one month to wait;
Urgent passion sweeping,
Christmas one day late
Making plans, building hopes,
five years 'til the altar
Always such believers,
never would we falter
But suddenly, a broken heart,
feelings unexplained
Sleepless nights, red brimmed eyes
lives forever stained
Futile tries at mending
back-doors left untended;
Unsuspected passion bared,
life-long friendships ended
Trying to accept the truth,
my aching soul bereft
Pictures, poems, paper dreams
---all that I have left
I miss the way we talked,
far into the night
Promises we made then...

Goodbye, Knuxie. There are many tears for you today.
Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.
Wow that is shocking, I knew he was having problems but nothing like that. Kunx, wherever you are, I always considered you a friend. The thing I will always remember the most are the random comments you would make in the Nameless chat rooms.

May the Force be with you Knux.
Yeah I remember those he was such a funny guy. I'll never forget that comment he made about greek dancing, that really exemplified his general friendliness and his willingness to let people see who he was.

Of course it's major, someone DIED. Anyway you look at it, it's a major thing. The fact that it happens to be one of the most respected members here is just added salt to an open wound.

NO KNUX. You were too young.

I knew there was something up when you hadn't replied to our PM. I worried so much and told ESSDEE I was going to call your house when I got back home. Only it's too late... ESSDEE told me the news on the way back from the airport. It broke my heart. :(

To Knux's brother and family, my deepest condolences. Knux touched many people here at VGF, and me especially. I have been one of the lucky ones, having been privy to some of Knux's private details, not only his battle with his health, but also his hopes and dreams.

I will never forget you, Knux. Twas my HONOUR to have you in my world. Thank you for all the laughs and for all the private messages. We maxed out so many of them and I loved it all.

Knux, you are the most beautiful angel ever!!! Rest in Peace, and we'll meet again another life time.
She lives in the clouds and talks to the birds...

Happiest faerie of VGF.

Wow, this place has changed lot over the past few years. I don't know who is new, who is old, or if anyone still remembers me, but I'm an old poster from way back in the day... 2001 through 2004, if I had to put a range on it. I've long since moved on from this little niche in the massive world of the internet. VGF was something from the heyday of my junior high and early high school years, and while it was certainly something I enjoyed, I suppose I lost interest as I matured.

Regardless, though, VGF was a huge part of my life for a good two or three years. The electronic medium notwithstanding, I met some incredible people through these boards, and although the friendships and connections I made during my time here have largely dissipated, they certainly have not been forgotten. Hell, I invested over 6000 posts into this place. I'll be damned if that was all for naught.

If there's anything I loved about VGF, it was the strong community atmosphere. This place went above and beyond the status quo for internet message boards, and the thing that kept me coming back for so many years was the outstanding group of friends that I had here--the Silverwinds and the Bolt Dragoons and the Tubsters and the Firebolts and the Kogas... and the Knuxes. I never knew him particularly well, but he was always one of us. One of the clan. One of us idiots up at three in the morning in some ridiculous AIM chat room for god-knows-what reason. One of many that kept the machinery of this place going, even when it looked like Shane was on the verge of shutting it down.

So when I heard that dear ol' Knuckles173 had passed... I knew I had to come here. Knux, you were a champ, plain and simple. Your passing is an immeasurable loss to VGF Forums, and to hear that it came at what should've been one of the most vibrant periods of your life absolutely breaks my heart. To his friends and family, I send you my condolences, and wish you the best through this difficult period. And above all, Knux, thank you for sharing all the countless good times here with me... they will not be forgotten.

Godspeed, Knux.

I've been through this too many times. I wish I didn't consider it so familiar. We all love you knux, and we'll all miss you. You were my friend and I'm sorry you had to go.
It seems fate has shut the door
And innocence, no never more
The world is laughing at my misfortune
And fragments of you echo in my head

No one wants to see me anymore
Nothing seems to feel the way it used to
Everything is beyond gone
Without you

I'll always remember the ones who stay forever young
Never forgive the world that let go
How can I justify? My living cannot coincide
With your end

It seems fate has shut the door
And innocence, no never more
The world is laughing at my misfortune
And fragments of you echo in my head

No one wants to see me anymore
Nothing seems to feel the way it used to
Everything is beyond gone
Without you

So what do you do when there's no one left to turn to?
Where do you run when there's no place left to hide?
This all feels so meaningless without you around
Over exposure is making me numb
Heaven's gates have stolen you from me
The ground gapes beneath my feet
Bit by bit my everything is swallowed into nothing
I'm left, drifting

I'll always remember the ones who stay forever young
Never forgive the world that let go
How can I justify? My living cannot coincide
With your end

Let me go to sleep, just let me go to sleep
With you, forever
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

I would also like to send my condolences to his family and friends, which I forgot about in my first post.

This still seems so unreal to me. Yesterday at random moments, it suddenly hit me again, and it was one of my first thoughts today waking up.

Knux, you will be missed...

Yea, yesterday it just hit me in certain places too. In school one time yesterday I almost broke out in tears, somebody asked me if I was alright, and I said yes, I'll be fine..but I couldnt stand knowing Knux wasn't...

I remember one particular instance when I had the pokemon roleplayer up for the very first time.(When I ran it all by myself.) I was talking to Knux on AIM while updating his topic, and I had faked like he had captured a Lugia(It was one of his favorite pokemon), and then said Sike. He flipped out and cussed me out, haha. Great times. They'll never be forgotten man.

^Was that the website where you created a Pokemon team and battled other people on the internet? I remember playing that with him. He killed me. And we always complained at each other for them taking Misty out of the show. I have a lot of memories of him concerning Pokemon.

I remember one time, the two of us started a project at VGF where we did a "What's your Pokemon sign?" sort of thing... where, for every day of the year, we randomy picked a Pokemon and gave it a personality description. Members at VGF would give us their dates of birth and we'd tell them their Pokemon sign - anyone remember that? I really enjoyed doing that with him because I felt a tighter bond with him while we did it together. We never did finish the project.

We also used to play Battleship together, and I usually pwned him in that at least. Any time I'd hit one of his ships, he would send me an angry smilie over AIM and I would point and laugh at him. We had so much fun with that.

It takes a trully special person to have so many caring friends without meeting them in real life. Knux (Phillip) was a special person though and I will miss him.

Knux was up there with the best members of VGF. Some people will miss him more than others, truth told but I know we all miss him in some way or another.

Goodbye, Kunx. :(

Just another veteran member signing in...

I was told about Knux's death yesterday by my friend Mariel who is not a VGF member but some of you (namely Kaz, Neo, NN) know. At the time I was just shocked and didn't know to react, but looking through VGF today and seeing how much love everyone has for this guy just hit me like a ton of bricks and I couldn't hold back the tears. I can't say that Knux was my closest friend while I was here, but I knew him very well as part of the Nameless gang and a member involved in almost all aspects of VGF. I would never have dreamed that that broken leg he had even two years ago while I was still a regular would do this. Knux was one of those great members that kept me coming back to this place, a place where I could escape what at the time was a fairly lonely and depressing life and make good friends (and for that I have all of you to thank). I feel lucky that I was able to meet him and I only wish that I had gotten to know him a little better rather than just completely fallen out of touch with him for the past 2 years. Knux, I feel absolutely awful about your death and no one deserves to die at such an age, but I'm glad that in this mixed-up life our paths crossed and I was able to meet a genuinely great human being (of which there aren't too many, it has to be said). Life moves on, but of course I'll always remember you as someone who was among a family of people who helped me through bad times just by being there, just by posting completely nonsensical and idiotic stuff on Nameless, by giving me a place to fit into and feel comfortable and at home back when I didn't have any friends at school. Thanks for the laughs and, even now, thanks for the tears. Bye, man.

It's Boomer, who posted around 2001-04 under the name homer. All almost 4000 were noob posts, so don't bother looking.

I met Knux maybe around 3 years ago here, just on a member-member basis, until I went into a chat with Curt and a couple of other vets. The last two years, Knux and I were relatively close. I don't mean he would tell me stupid secrets and we would giggle about it, but we were friends. I knew about his condition, and that he was in the hospital, but I never expected this. It's hard to expect anyone you know so well is going to die. Anyway, It probably wasn't two weeks ago when I talked to him last and that he was doing fine, then Curt comes to me yesterday with the news that he had passed.

Knux was a great guy, whether it was talking about his Star Wars obsession or the sluts on the corner whom he should 'give a good dicking.' Knux was always there laughing along with everyone else, and he totally owned us all at Netbattle. I really don't know what else to say, he was just a great guy. Definately going to be missed.
