Have any of you played this game? I am so legitimately happy that this video game exists. It is perfection

Haven't played it, but I've seen playthroughs of it.

I'm glad geese are finally being recognized for the little monsters they are.

I played it over the weekend, and Kat got to see some gameplay. It’s a great game for people to play, watch, and figure out together.

I wish it controlled better, but it hasn’t hindered my enjoyment of things. Being that Goose is so much fun. The to-do list popping up and crossing off the objectives is so satisfying—the timing of the notifications, even, is thoughtfully done and hilarious.

yeah the goose doesn't control as freely as you'd think: it takes a long time to turn around while running, so you have to let go of the run button to make sharp turns. certainly forces you to think about your movement.

something i'd criticize is some of the hints for being obtuse. i had to look up what to do on multiple occasions and it was always something i wouldn't even think of trying.

the game is really fun on a replay though

It's basically next game I get. I've been waiting for it since the first trailer and it looks like it came out perfect.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

ok disclaimer because sometimes im just dumb but some things i thought were hard to guess:

"get the groundskeeper wet" is a little vague imo, what you're supposed to do is make him chase you into the lake, but that can be a little confusing when there's also a sprinkler and giant water tank in the garden area

getting thrown over the fence also was something i doubt i would have discovered on my own (which to be fair, this one is a bonus goal so its not as pressing but still). i would not have guessed to drag the box all the way from the pub area to the neighboring yards and get inside. what that area DOES have, however, is a spot where you can stand perfectly still and be mistaken for a statue, so i thought maybe that had something to do with it.

making the boy wear the wrong glasses was also something i had to look up because i didnt even realize you could untie his shoes to make him trip (again thats probably me not being very observant but still)

Seems like they might need to consider reworking the hints a bit in an update, he listed a gaggle of them.

ok i cannot speak for the others however i know that the untitled goose game 100% speedrun does get the groundkeeper wet using the sprinkler. so i actually think some of these are vague because you can approach them from different ways. that said i still haven't actually played the game so

Yeah, I got the farmer wet with the sprinkler. I dropped a boot right next to it, which forced him to get right up close and bend over, then I hit the hose.

I didn’t know you could trip the kid. I think I just had him bend over to get his airplane and then ripped the glasses off his face, then put the other ones next to his feet.

^ Weird, that’s how I solved those ones too. Well, not the boot. I just dropped stuff near the sprinkler and got him wet when he bent down. I used the airplane to get the boy’s glasses as well. This is what I love about this game. You just try a bunch a stuff and there are multiple ways to solve most goals.

I beat the main campaign tonight. So much fun. Making my way through the bonus goals now.

During the final sequence...
Spoiler.
I had a close call with the boy in the high street. The shopkeeper was hot on my tail, and i was going straight for the boy. Thought I was done for. But then i remembered...and i just started honking like crazy. He ran away. I was in the clear. I love this game.

Spoiler.
i LOVE the last goal of the story! that model village was so cool, it was really neat to see the world map in miniature form, and i love the detail of the hole with the bells in the starting area of the game finally being explained by the last mission, and running back through the whole map with a noisy bell being chased by everyone was very super metroid. its just really good
