Games you remember but don't remember the names of.

Ever have a game that you remember playing or seeing, but just can't remember what it was called? Well, maybe we can help.

Describe a game that you remember playing or seeing, and maybe people can guess what its name is.

Yeah, there are a few. One was a really hard action platformer on SNES that I rented when I was a kid. It started you off on a castle and you were like a knight or something. It was pretty tough and I didn't like it. I'm still curious what it was though.

Another was a first person Star Wars game for PC, probably late 90's. I think it was perhaps just a demo but it started in a hanger or something. Idk man.

I think I found this one out before but forgot again, but there was a western themed FPS also for PC at that time, a bit weird. I remember there being a lot of verticality in one building and some jails.

My memory is terrible so there's a lot of stuff I don't remember.

^That first one sounds like Super Ghouls n' Ghosts.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I have one! It was on Xbox. You were on a team of 4 people, and one of the people was a lizard person. I remember it was a military-shooter kind of game. And it had local co-op, which was great.

^Four-man team-based co-op shooter on XBox with a lizard person sounds like 'Brute Force'. I don't think I ever played it, but I remember the boxart.

Hm, no, definitely not that one. Doesn't that one start in a cemetery? Good guess though.

Yep, that's definitely it. I looked up gameplay of the demo and instantly remembered playing it. I was too scared to fight the cowboys so I just shot the chickens...

Thanks, maybe I'll give it a whirl again sometime.

i could probably try googling this but when i was around 10, give or take, i had this portable handheld thing - it was purple and silver - that had a selection of really REALLY simple games (like snake, etc). it only had the capability of displaying something like a 20x20 grid, if that, of square black pixels. it probably had tetris on it but i was bad at tetris.

the only game i played on it was this game where i think you're supposed to be a race car passing other cars, except it just looks like youre stationary and other cars come raining down. it only had 3 states: left, middle, right. you basically had to move left and right to avoid colliding with the cars you approached and it got faster and faster the farther you got. one collision killed it.

i remember this game because on one trip to france i had to entertain myself for what felt like 5 hours and was probably closer to 2, i just zoned the **** in on this game and grinded it so hard that i looped past the max speed and it went back to the original slow speed again. i didn't get it to loop twice but i never repeated that accomplishment. that was one of my earliest memories of feeling like a True Gamer TM.

i mean it was probably the easiest game on there but still

double post because i actually bothered to google and i think i know what it is. it was a brick game console (or perhaps a knockoff brick game console) and i am remembering the car racing game on it.

i haven't been able to google image the exact console i had though. none of them look quite right. i could be misremembering but i swear it looked different than all these, and was purple and silver with some black on it. i feel like the buttons were silver, like that early 2000's fake plastic silver.

EDIT

THIS IS IT!!!!!

Image

the buttons are definitely not silver but i knew the silhouette was this and i KNEW i would instantly recognize it when i saw it. i could buy a replacement off ebay for 8 bucks and have it here on monday lololol im kinda tempted

That makes me wonder if there's Tiger Electronics handheld emulation. They were pretty popular but also rather bad, so idk.

^ That's actually really cool lol

So, another one I can't remember. Maybe mid 00's, there was this Jurassic Park demo kiosk. It featured a 2D side scrolling level with a Tyrannosaurus Rex chasing a vehicle in the jungle. Maybe there were huts or something...

I remember it being impressive to me, looked good and played well.

Anyone remember this?

There was a game I rented yeaaars ago for the SNES. It's very vague but it was this sword and sorcery vibe. It was an action adventure fantasy game that looked and felt similar to something like Golden Axe. I can't remember if it was two-player. I was an only child so I only ever played by myself at the time. I just remember moving around a buff, Conan-the-Barbarian-esque guy and beating up monsters or something. I think you could use magic too.

EDIT: ^^I own that Batman Tiger handheld game! It still works. I played the **** out of it when I was a kid. I own a ton of LCD games.
