I still get nervous browsing this site logged in. I don't like the idea of my cookies getting snaffled.

Why is it drug addicts and computer afficionados are both called users?

Re: Add HTTPS?
Not particularly. Have considered it. Probably will eventually.
Competition is a good thing. It's a chance to crush people.

Re: Add HTTPS?
Is it just me or is a little ironic that Facebook and Google are some of the donors/sponsors?

Yeah but like. You know. It's all about giving people access to a more secure and private connection.

Re: Add HTTPS?
Right, I mean it doesn't have donors/sponsors. It's just an agreed upon standard.
FB and Google push it in part because it doesn't protect the URL, so third parties can read traffic and see what people were searching for, etc. Since there's a very good chance you're either talking to them directly or using a site that has their tracking cookies, it's very much in their interest that traffic reveals as little data as possible.
HTTPS has loads of benefits to average users as well, obviously, but it isn't hurting established advertising companies.
