Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
I made it like 4-5 hours into World of Light before starting to use any spirits (other than for map access). Actually have over half the first map visible already & all 3 switches for the Temple of Light flipped in just 2 sittings, so that's cool.

DZ and I played some matches today. It was a good time. His Isabelle can gimp you very early if you're not careful. And sometimes when you are careful, too.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
I don't have everybody yet, but first impressions of the newcomers so far....
Daisy: Functions exactly like Peach. Exactly. I am not seeing ANY difference.
Ridley: Racks up damage fast, but has trouble finishing the job.
Simon/Richter: I need to get used to their ranging, but they are delightful.
Isabelle: Actually pretty interesting.
K. Rool: Completely broken. They took his "cheats during the DK64 boss fight" thing & ran with it.
Inkling: SO MUCH FUN I LOVE THEM SO MUCH AM I A KID OR AM I A SQUID

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
Ridley is a strange character. You'd think he'd be a slow, super heavy damage-dealer like Ganon, but he's actually a heavy (lighter than Samus) with a decent amount of speed (tied for 10th place) that kind of pokes with his tail. Recovery is pretty jank though.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
Same. The funny thing is I played as Daisy first in Ultimate before playing Peach, and I thought, "Oh that's cute. Daisy uses Toad more often for help. Toad gladly covers Daisy as a counter but Peach just thrusts Toad out in front of her against his will. That's a nice contrast between the two. Peach just uses her butt for everything - the attention whore." But then I played as Peach and everything was the same and thought "Oh. Never mind."CaptHayfever wrote: ↑Sat Dec 15, 2018 9:51 pm

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
I read there's a minor difference between Peach and Daisy, height or reach or something.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
Found the other two wind-resistance spirits, so Snorlax & Kapp'n are both kindly invited to bugger off.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
SD and I got this, we've been sharing duties doing the world of light fights. Some of them are a real pain in the ass, others are over as soon as they start. Certainly makes for more interesting single player than the Wii U game.
I'm gonna poke around the menus a bit and see if I can find anything, but can anyone else tell me if there's info on what specific games the spirits are from, etc? I've been seeing a lot that I'm not sure about their origin, etc. Would be cool if I could find out.

I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
It says on the intro screen in World of Light, although it's really easy to miss. Not sure if there's any way to check once you've already got the spirit.

If you’re looking for something as fleshed out as Melee’s trophy gallery, you’ll be disappointed. Basically all it gives you is the series the Spirit is from.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
WoL is probably longer than anyone expected, though it's not really paced as well as it could have been. Spirits are neat but some of the mechanics involved seem almost too convoluted or pointless for this type of game. (ie: Dojos, Spirit Board) Evolving Spirits is fun though.
