Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
I'm not big on the "lose to a spirit & it's gone forever" mechanic of the Spirit Board. I figure I'll save that for after I get overpowered on story-mode spirits & just can't lose anymore.

I just have zero interest in playing World of Light. I feel kinda bad ignoring such a big part of the game that obviously had a ton of love and work put into it though.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
I just bumped World of Light down to easy so I can breeze through it. Otherwise it's pretty insufferable to go through some of those matches.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
The thing about Spirit Board is that a great deal of the same Spirit Battles are also in WoL, where you get infinite attempts and a guaranteed drop.

^This. Another reason to save the Board for later.

Just lost to, as in "immediate rematch"? 'Cause that won't help me much.HarkZero wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 10:02 pmtheres an item that lets you rematch a spirit you just lost toCaptHayfever wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 8:34 pmI'm not big on the "lose to a spirit & it's gone forever" mechanic of the Spirit Board. Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
So, Isabelle has a glitch: Knock knock. But is it a bug, or is it a feature?

Just found out that the Pikmins' spirit modifiers are insane. Equipped Olimar with Air Attack Up, Weapon Attack Up, & Undamaged Attack Up. Snorlax is once again kindly invited to bugger off.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
Some of the matches on WoL aren't just hard because they put you at a severe disadvantage. They make playing with comfortable characters much more difficult. I usually have about four main fighters but if I've lost 20 of the same match, I'll usually switch to someone I never play with. The urge to lower the difficulty is so heavy at that point.
Isabelle is the most ruthless killer in this whole game. That's not an opinion that is fact.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
The reason I lowered the difficulty is because of the items that spawn in WoL, or that some of the spirits are equipped with. Items are chaotic and fun in multiplayer and stuff where I'm not concerned with winning or losing, but when I'm trying to actually win a dang thing, they're insufferable.

Thanks. Yeah, that's pretty disappointing.Marilincarnation wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 5:37 pmSpirits > Collection > Inventory > Spirit Listе и ժ е я wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 1:41 pmSD and I got this, we've been sharing duties doing the world of light fights. Some of them are a real pain in the ass, others are over as soon as they start. Certainly makes for more interesting single player than the Wii U game.
I'm gonna poke around the menus a bit and see if I can find anything, but can anyone else tell me if there's info on what specific games the spirits are from, etc? I've been seeing a lot that I'm not sure about their origin, etc. Would be cool if I could find out.
If you’re looking for something as fleshed out as Melee’s trophy gallery, you’ll be disappointed. Basically all it gives you is the series the Spirit is from.
So btw, Pauline match in World of Light is horrible and I utterly despise whoever is responsible. Seriously, I wish pain on them.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
I remember having a system against Pauline that basically boiled down to the following. I did this with Peach for the record.
Has anyone challenged The Boss from MGS 3? I beat it with Snake, for the sake of theming. It's tough but not entirely impossible to drain her health down.
- Jump right up to Mario holding a hammer right as he spawns and force it out of his hands. If he hits you once with it, reset. If Donkey Kong appears before you've done this, reset.
- Knock Mario out with the hammer, waiting as long as possible for Donkey Kong to appear so you can also knock him out. If Mario gets the hammer back, reset. If this takes longer than a minute to do, reset
- Chase Peach while hopefully getting a lucky stopwatch or item to pummel her with so you can eventually knock her out. If you can't do this, well, reset because you don't have a choice.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
I beat Pauline on my first try because Peach flubbed her recovery and fell into a pit. Similar thing happened to The Boss but it was a random failing attempt.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
I reached Sheik's path last, & I haven't even bothered attempting Pauline yet.
Just started with dungeons last night. I cleared everything out of the Power Plant except for Victini, & everything out of the Underground Base except for Dr. Wily and 9-Volt/18-Volt. I'm gonna leave the Temple of Light for last; I don't wanna cross the fissure yet.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
9-Volt/18 Volt took me at minimum 35 attempts. Every time I got hit off the map I would instantly get smashed out of bounds by a bullet.

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
9-Volt and 18-Volt was terrible, but I finally managed it. Dr. Wily was awful, but I decided to skip it and come back after I had gotten stronger spirits. Then I got to Metal Gear REX (or whatever the h*ck that spirit is called, the one with the two metal ROBs) and said "You know what, screw it, I'm turning down the difficulty because World of Light is actually bullcrap and sucks."

Re: SMASH ON SWITCH
^Oh, I actually thought that one was pretty easy, especially compared to other metal-ROB fights like Otacon.
