$2 trillion sounds like a lot of money, but it's only about one month's GDP. It will be helpful for a little while. $1200 is an average housing payment, which considering how little most people save is helpful however you look at it. The unemployment part is the bigger deal. Even the Great Depression couldn't compete with the sort of numbers we're seeing. I doubt we'll end up at 25% over a period of years, but the speed of the collapse is overwhelming.
Competition is a good thing. It's a chance to crush people.

I have a fever. I don't think it's Covid, but who the hell knows. If it is it's a mild and weird case. No trouble breathing (which is surprising because I'm prone to panic attacks and I've been breathing just fine). Mostly "productive" coughs if I cough at all. Tummy issues and aches, no chest pain. Sense of smell and taste seem normal.

I took Tylenol and felt slightly better, had more energy, stuff like that. Gonna bundle up and sleep until I can't anymore, hoping I sweat this thing out in the meantime. Luckily we just got our heat fixed or this would suck more because it was cold as heck in here just two weeks ago.

No matter what I'll probably isolate in my room for a few days because you probably can't be too cautious and I don't want to spread even the regular cold or flu to my roommates. Hopefully they won't mind leaving a plate of toast outside my door or wiping down the bathroom extra hard.

In the meantime, bedtime. Positive thoughts. Time to break out my old choir recordings for comfort.

Thanks for bearing with me I need an outlet so I don't freak out and my parents and roommates are asleep

Sounds like you'll be fine, but praying for you anyway. You never know, every time I sneeze I'm like "welp this is it."

Hope you feel better! I've had a headache since last night, but I think it's just tension. No fever and my very occasional coughing and sneezing are because of allergies.

Yeah, man do what you have to and I'm sure everything will be alright. Any of ya'll can message me if you're panicking and just need to vent or something. It's a stressful little time we're all going through. No one is unaffected by this. First time in my life that I've seen a societal shift from everyday norms at least.

Even if it's Covid, the biggest concern if the symptoms are mild unless you are in a high risk group is probably the highly contagious nature that puts those people at a greater risk. Self quarantine is a good idea just to be safe. Even if you know it's not this after going for a test, I'd do that to stop other people from freaking out.

The study predicting 2.2 million deaths in the US has been revised downward to below 100,000, about half of those directly from the virus. Still a big number but a dramatic reduction.

Aside from the direct payment and unemployment measures, up to 8 weeks pay are being half funded as forgivable small business loans as long as companies stay in business and don't layoff their employees.
Competition is a good thing. It's a chance to crush people.

Fever kept in check with Tylenol and no other symptoms have worsened, so I think I'm in the clear largely. Still isolating which sucks because I'm going to even less human contact, but it's been fine.

Personally not much, since I was pretty antisocial even before all this.

It's been an inconvenience in terms of going to the store and stuff.

It's making completing our move really exhausting 'cause nobody can help us, I'm still working full-time (from home, because that's my job), & we have to be completely out of the old place by this weekend to avoid too much overlap in rent/mortgage & old/new utilities.
Meanwhile, I keep seeing groups of people hanging out on the street (when transiting between homes or to/from grocers) & I wanna scream at them to knock it off because they're gonna make this take longer.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Obviously being sick myself has affected this, but I haven't left my house for any reason in over a week. Haven't seen a human being other than my roommates, and my usual social gatherings every week like D&D have been canceled until further notice. Before I got sick I was trying to change up my workout routine (even though you can still go outside for walks and stuff, I tried to mostly stay indoors). I'm a generally pretty social person who likes to go out regularly, so being inside and not going to the movies or to bars or restaurants and stuff is killing me.

On the other hand, I've worked significantly on my movie watch list and have saved a lot of money in the past few weeks.

I'm on the definite upswing of whatever I caught, which I'm about 95% sure wasn't corona. The worst parts of it got kept in check pretty well by Tylenol, and everything was way more stomach-focused than respiratory. I'm still a little achy and fatigued but no fever anymore. I'm hoping today might be the last day I completely self-isolate. I'd like to at least hang out in my living room a little.

It's different working from home everyday, though it is something I have done before a long time ago, but completely manageable and in some respects better. Not being able to go just about anywhere is inconvenient, but for me it hasn't really risen to a level much beyond that. Shopping has been a little challenging, but that's more down to people being greedy hoarders than social distancing. The stores seem to be slowly bouncing back from the initial hit. If I were someone working in a pub/gym/restaurant/etc., I'd really have something to complain about.

My board game backlog is getting destroyed, although my video game backlog has more than made up for the decrease. >_>
